GOLF 101...

Living on the golf course we get a lot of golf balls in our yard.
Santa came close to getting popped several times.  "Where are they
coming from?" he asked.  The best way to explain was to take him
to the Country Club to see for himself.

Just so happens there was a tournament that day.

Hmm...  Golf carts...

Is this for me???

Is this for me too???

FORE...What???

"Hey fellas, thanks for a great round of golf."
"How about a few brewskis, and I'm buying."

FLOWER POWER

You don't have to have a green thumb when you've got a red glove.

FATHER'S DAY

This Sunday is Father's Day and I wanted to share it with Santa.
I thought this would be something special for both of us to visit the
family that we both shared.  The cemetery in Jonesboro is the resting
place for our family.  I've been there many times throughout the years
for different reasons. One of my fondest memories is aboutNannie's
trunk.  No matter what the occasion Nannie was always prepared
with a trunk full of silk flowers, styrofoam, whatever was needed
to spruce up the family plot.  Then Nannie, Mama, and I would
 go to Butch's for lunch.
Another memory is how my grandfather thought it would be a
great idea to cover the plot with cement to act as a weed block.
The down side was that it was so thick they had to jack hammer
to get anyone else into their designated spot.  The weeds came
anyway.
My personal memory happened on the day of Daddy's burial.
After everyone left, I hung around to watch them lower him.
They were about to lower the lid onto the vault, when I noticed
that they had misspelled EMBREY.  It was spelled EMBERY.
There was no way I was going to let this happen.  Short story,
they changed it.  I think Daddy would have been happy.

THE GIRLS...

Having four dogs really limits the amount of visitors we have.
You either like dogs or you don't.  When we come home, Cassie,
one of the "girls", likes to jump up to greet you.  We love it...
even though we know it is not  a good thing.  Coco, on the other
hand is pretty laid back.  Except for the delivery people.  With
four dogs all hell breaks loose.  They've been trained to deliver
through the garage, where there is more than one door between
us and the "bad, bad, pizza man".  Wasted money for the PetSmart
obedience 6 week class for both girls.  Seventy dollars down the
drain for a home one on one training.  Compounded by the
constant reminder from our neighbor that we should get our
money back and move to the country.  Well, too bad!
They're our "girls", and after all, they are Shelties and
we love them for it.
