WHAT A DRAG...
My first professional gig happened in the 80's. I was working at
Transart, an interior design company dealing with artwork for homes
and businesses. A friend of a co-worker had a portable studio, who
did photos of me for business cards. I liked the "studio in a bag" set-up.
I've been using it since then. I've done families, businesses, events, etc.
My real start was after some friends took me to see a drag show. If you
don't know what that is, ask around.
One of the headliners of the show found out about my studio set-up,
and booked me for some head shots and magnets. That led to others
who needed to update their photos. They liked the privacy of the shoot.
Up until then they went to Glamor Shots and others or just your basic
photos at work.
I came to know them all on a personal level and consider many of them
my friends, still. The shows were awesome and they were all beautiful
and talented. Here's a few of them.
My first...
...and the last...
I did head shots of the showgirls in Hawaii also. Strange.
I was on vacation in Acapulco and went on a sight seeing
tour at night. We stopped at the famous Cliff Divers show, and
ended up in some nightclub. The show was very lavish but
something didn't seem right. You would think that after the
exposure I've had with Female Impersonators, I would be
more aware. Wrong. Not once, but twice.
I was on vacation with friends in Cancun. We went on a
Pirate Cruise, Tequila shot our way up and down the strip
and ended up in a downstairs nightclub. The show was
very lavish but something didn't seem right. Lightening can
strike twice.

PS Maybe it's not always a coincidence where you end
up in life...
